A Greenwood woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Edgefield County early Sunday morning, June 29th.
The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 378 and Callison Highway, roughly 14 miles north of Edgefield. Authorities say a 2022 Ford F-250 was traveling east on U.S. 378 when it struck the passenger side of a 2012 Chevy Camaro that was heading south on Callison Highway.
The driver of the Camaro, identified as 41-year-old Catalina Hernandez of Greenwood, lost control after the collision and veered off the road, hitting an embankment. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:05 a.m., according to the Edgefield County Coroner’s Office.
The driver and passenger in the Ford pickup were not injured. No charges have been announced, and the crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
