Authorities have identified Daniel James White of Landrum, South Carolina as the victim killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 26 in Lexington County on Wednesday, December 17th. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on the westbound entrance ramp to Airport Boulevard near mile marker 113. White’s 2014 Mazda sedan, towing a utility trailer, was legally stopped on the ramp while he worked on the trailer. Investigators say a 2009 Ford pickup traveling on the entrance ramp veered off the roadway, striking both White and the trailer, and the rear of the Mazda.
White was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the pickup truck was transported to Lexington Medical Center with minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
