Bringing Joy & Dignity to South Carolina: Join Bringardner Injury Law Firm & Closet of Hope for the 2025 Virtual Holiday Toy Drive

The holiday season is often defined by traditions: gathering with family, sharing meals, and the gratitude of exchanging gifts. But for thousands of children across South Carolina, these traditions are disrupted by the uncertainty of the foster care system.

At Bringardner Injury Law Firm, we believe that every child deserves to feel the warmth, dignity, and normalcy of the holidays. That is why we are proud to announce our partnership with Closet of Hope for their 2025 Annual Holiday Toy Drive.

Their goal is ambitious but achievable: to provide holiday gifts for over 600 children and teens impacted by foster care in our local communities.

Why We Partner with Closet of Hope

Founded in Summerville, SC, and serving communities across South Carolina, Closet of Hope is more than just a donation center. It is a symbol of love and hope for kids who need it the most.

When children enter foster care, they often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Closet of Hope exists to bridge that gap, providing immediate essentials like clothing, shoes, toiletries, and car seats, all 100% free of charge to foster families.

By partnering with Close to Hope for their Holiday Toy Drive, we are supporting an organization that:

  • Serves the Whole Family: They support not just the foster child, but the entire foster family unit to ensure stability.
  • Is Volunteer-Driven: This is a true labor of love, ensuring that resources go directly to the children who need them.
  • Restores Dignity: Beyond basic needs, they provide gifts that help children feel valued and normal during a chaotic time in their lives.

The Reality of Foster Care in South Carolina

Recent data indicates there are nearly 4,000 children in the foster care system across South Carolina. These children range from infants to teenagers. They are sometimes moved between homes with very little warning. For a child in the foster care system, a holiday gift is more than just a toy – it is a message that they matter. It is a reminder that our community cares about their happiness.

How the “Virtual” Toy Drive Works

We know that the holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year for our clients and staff. That is why we have opted for a Virtual Giving Drive this year.

This modern approach removes the barriers to giving. You don’t need to drive to a store, worry about wrapping paper, or find a physical drop-off bin.

Step-by-Step Guide to Participating:

  1. Visit the Amazon Wishlist: We have curated a list of specific needs requested by the children and teens.
  2. Select Your Gift: You can choose items based on your budget, from small toys and books to larger items for teenagers.
  3. Direct Shipping: When you check out, select the Closet of Hope Gift Registry Address. Amazon will ship the items directly to their sorting facility, where volunteers will organize and distribute them.
  4. No Deadlines Worries: As long as you order by December 10th, your gift is guaranteed to arrive in time for the holidays.

A Special Note on Teenagers

When we think of “Toy Drives,” we often picture teddy bears and dolls for small children. However, teenagers make up a significant portion of the foster care population and are often the most overlooked group during holiday drives.

If you are unsure what to give, please consider selecting items from the wish list geared toward older kids, such as:

  • Gift Cards: Giving a teen the autonomy to buy what they want is a powerful gift.
  • Electronics & Headphones: essential for school and connecting with friends.
  • Personal Care Sets: high-quality hygiene items or makeup kits.
  • Sports Equipment: basketballs, footballs, or gym bags.

Join Us in Making a Difference

This drive is about serving the needs of foster children in the Charleston area and beyond. It is about local businesses and individuals coming together to say that every child in our community matters.

Whether you can donate a single board game or sponsor gifts for an entire family, your contribution will directly impact a child’s life this holiday season.
