Welcome to the Bringardner Injury Law Firm Drunk Driving Prevention Scholarship. One graduating high school senior will receive a $1,000 scholarship honoring their efforts to prevent drunk driving accidents in the community. Graduating seniors are invited to submit an essay and supporting materials for consideration.
What is the Bringardner Drunk Driving Prevention Scholarship?
Bringardner Injury Law Firm is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to graduating seniors in South Carolina who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning in the fall. Selection of the recipients is based on the candidates’ efforts to prevent drunk driving accidents in the community. The criteria that will be considered for the scholarship is a written essay explaining their drunk driving prevention efforts, school activities, leadership roles, honors and awards, community involvement, and academic excellence.
Drunk Driving Prevention Scholarship Details
Amount: $1,000, one scholarship to be awarded
Who is Eligible: Graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university
Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated for their efforts to prevent drunk driving as explained in their essay as well as school and community achievements, excellence and contributions.

Essay and Entry Information
To apply, submit the following to the email provided before the scholarship deadline:
Essay:
Submit an essay highlighting your efforts to prevent drunk driving in the community. The essay must be written by the applicant. It may be any length.
School and Community Contributions:
Explain your involvement in school and the community. Highlight academic achievements and awards, honors, school and community involvement including leadership positions. You may choose to submit supporting documentation that further explains and verifies your achievements including transcripts, recommendation letters or certificates of commendation.
Personal Information:
Include the following personal information with your application:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Mailing address
- Name of high school
- Current high school transcript
- Name of the college or university you plan to attend, if known
- List of extracurricular activities or involvement in community organizations
- Nominate a teacher, coach, or other school district employee who has inspired you
- If under 18, a signed statement from a parent or guardian saying, “I give my child, (your name), permission to apply for the Bringardner Injury Law Firm Drunk Driving Prevention scholarship.”
- A photograph (we’ll use it only for promotional purposes, if you’re selected)

About Our Scholarship
Drunk driving claimed the lives of 315 people in South Carolina in 2020. Drunk driving deaths increased in 2020 even though total miles traveled decreased. South Carolina ranks 10th in the United States for total drunk driving deaths, despite being only 23rd in population. (MADD) These deaths are entirely preventable.
At Bringardner Injury Law Firm, we see first-hand the devastation that drunk driving causes. We know the problem that drunk driving is for our community. We grieve with our clients as we work on their behalf for justice following a drunk driving accident.
As injury lawyers, we devote our time and resources to ensuring that families are fully compensated for their injuries and damages. The Bringardner Injury Law Firm Drunk Driving Scholarship honors students who have made efforts to prevent drunk driving. It provides financial support for recipients to further their education to make additional community contributions.
Terms and Conditions
The decisions of the scholarship committee are final. By entering, you agree to let us use your name, likeness and essay for promotional purposes, including on our website and social media. Bringardner Injury Law Firm owns the rights to public, distribute and promote your essay. You can only enter once.
You must use the award for tuition or room & board to attend a four-year institution of higher learning following high school graduation. Winners are responsible for any taxes that may apply to the award.
Employees and family members of Bringardner Injury Law Firm are not eligible.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bringardner Injury Law Firm and its members, officers, directors and employees against all liability and costs associated with the application process or use of scholarship funds.
